Farmers Market Sales Associate Position June-End of September

A McKenzie’s Farm Market Sales Associate must be a friendly, energetic person who enjoys people and finds helping others rewarding and challenging. Must have enthusiasm for sharing information, our farm practices, recipes, and ideas using our produce.

Responsibilities for Farmers Market include: loading up at the farm, driving to market, setting up at market, sales, breaking down at market, and driving back to farm. Sales Associate is required to perform the duties of their position in line with both McKenzie’s Farm Core Values and Seacoast Grower’s Association policies and procedures.  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Candidate must must demonstrate high energy and friendly demeanor. Requires quality customer care and service - responds promptly to customer needs, service and assistance.  Candidate must be able to multi-task and cope well with stressful situations including long lines and multiple transactions at once. Candidate must obtain a high attention to detail and excel in customer relations. Candidate must be efficient in organization and time management to ensure prompt set up and break down at market. Candidate must be extremely dependable and punctual. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions. Candidate must be able to constantly take initiative and be a self starter.

Greet customers in a friendly and cordial manner. Responds to all customer requests politely and promptly – and helps educate the customer on our farm’s growing practices and other offerings we have at our farm and can direct them to our location. Candidate will be held accountable for cash made during sales transactions. Effectively manages electronic and cash sales keeping a sales report for each daily shift completed.

Responsible for dismantling the Farmers Market booth and transporting all supplies, inventory and equipment back to the farm. Maintains supplies and equipment in a neat well-organized manner for the next market. Reports all incidents that require action, are a cause for concern or may be of possible conflict of interest to Management.

Physical Demands The physical demands of performing the duties of this job are being able to regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Each market is approximately 4 hours long and candidate must be able to stand at booth for this length of time. Farmers Market Sales Representative is frequently exposed to hot, wet and/or humid weather.

Driving: Candidate must have clean driving record and currently insured and licensed.

Compensation starts at $10 an hour depending on past experience and qualifications.
