The Kitchen Manager is a valued contributor to the overall success of Chive. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for leading the kitchen team on cook days, representing Chive as on site chef at events and collaborating to create incredible food experiences for our community. This position’s primary job is to provide continued care to client, team and mission.
The Kitchen Manager must be highly organized and creative and appreciate high volume cooking. This opportunity is for advanced culinary leaders only who have Chef experience. Position requires premium experience, culinary education, long term dedication and passion for food. There is an enormous sense of ownership that goes along with this position and there is an expectation to collaborate with the owners to constantly improve, develop and evolve food and operations. Currently Chive specializes in full service catered events to private and corporate clients however, we are growing our prepared foods model and limited service catering options. We are looking for someone who can keep up with many demands of a growing business.
Chive just celebrated it’s 9th birthday. While we are an established business with systems and standards in place we are also a growing business looking for the right next person to join our small core team. We manage up to 100 seasonal event staff and a multitude of events at any given time but our business has a very personal and intimate feel. Our focus on sustainability runs through every vein in our business. As a food company, authenticity in our sourcing and creative highlight of our regions harvests is our heart beat. This is a full time, year round position. Compensation based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu collaboration and creation for special events and weekly prepared foods
Manage Kitchen maintenance/cleanliness/equipment
Direct point of contact for health department/compliance
Manage food/Beverage inventorying
Manage food/Beverage ordering and vendor relations
Mange food/Beverage/Labor cost management
Manage creation of prep lists
Scheduling/Managing/Hiring Kitchen prep team
Manage Recording and testing recipes
Manage packing for off site events
Lead Chef during prep days
Day of Chef as scheduled for events
