Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager {SAMA} Food For Balance

  • Date Posted May 05, 2017
  • Location Atlanta, GA
  • Category Culinary
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description

{SAMA} Food For Balance is a new health and wellness concept by Shannon Salter Sliger opening in Buckhead, Atlanta in summer 2017. Healthy bowls with an Ayurvedic twist will be the mainstay of the hot bar. Creating delicious and interesting vegan and vegetarian friendly foods while also including our paleo, gluten-free, and pescatarian friends will be a fun challenge.  {SAMA}, meaning "balance" in Sanskrit, seeks to help its customers find balance in body, mind and soul with a meditation studio included.

Ayurveda principles teach us that food should be a multi-sensory and fully satisfying experience that engages our sight, smell and taste through various textures, colors and spices. It just happens to incorporate some of the most nourishing foods on the planet, combined in a way that promotes balance and healing in the body.

Atlanta's first Ayurveda-inspired, fast-casual restaurant, {SAMA} will serve seasonal Balance Bowls that include options for a variety of local, organic vegetables, grains, super foods, and proteins, cold-pressed juices and cocktails, a multitude of smoothie bowls, an espresso bar featuring a selection of organic coffee products, as well as a 500-square-foot meditation studio and a retail shop "featuring consciously curated products that promote balance in the home and body" all located in Buckhead’s new “Andrews Square," formerly “East Andrews Entertainment District”.
