  • Job Type Full-Time
Company Description von Trapp Farmstead is a family run organic dairy in Waitsfield Vermont.  The dairy has been in our family since 1959.  In 2009 we started making cheese as a way to keep the farm in the family and create a more sustainable business.  We believe strongly in organic practices and keeping Vermont a working landscape. We work hard to take great care of the land and animals so that our cows produce the best milk so we can make delicious cheese!  In order to make our farm more sustainable, we started raising whey fed pigs that happily consume whey, the byproduct of cheesemaking.  They are also fed spent grain from our neighbor brewer Lawson's Finest Liquids, and day old bread that would otherwise be composted.  We turn our byproduct and our neighbors byproducts into delicious whey fed pork!
