The Schooner Stephen Taber offers 3 to 6 day sailing excursions in Penobscot Bay on the Maine Coast. The vessel was built in 1871 and is a National Historic Landmark. We carry 22 guests and 6 crew. We sail around some of this country's most beautiful cruising grounds. Each trip is its own adventure and we pride ourselves on the camaraderie that is built between our guests and crew through sharing unique adventures together. Good food is a main ingredient in our guests' enjoyment and appreciation of the vacations we offer. We offer 3 meals a day and they are all cooked on a 1910 Home Clarion wood stove. The schooner has been in our family since 1979 and we have built a reputation for keeping the boat ship shape and serving some of the best food in our industry. We source ingredients locally when we can and work directly with a farmer who grows and harvests produce specifically for our needs.
A serious culinary adventure! We run 3-6 day sailing trips off the Maine coast and need chef/cook for the end of the season. This position requires cooking and provisioning 3 meals a day aboard the boat for 22 guests and 5 crew. We encourage culinary creativity! All meals are cooked on a wood stove. You will have a dedicated assistant. For the right person, this is an amazing, all encompassing opportunity and adventure. This is an intense and rewarding position that requires a great deal of organization, common sense and people skills. Will be working in close quarters and be interacting directly with guests.
