Doux South is a rapidly growing producer of southern pickled vegetables in Atlanta.  Started by Atlanta chef Nick Melvin and Mark Hungarland in 2013, Doux South's growth can be attributed to it's unique all-natural product line featuring wonderful brines and crunchy pickles.  We're fanatics about quality, so we've kept all production in-house.  Our production kitchen is located in Atlanta's food and beverage mecca, the Lee & White district on the southwest side.
Job description
We are looking for that special person that has a love for great pickles along with the ability and experience to take our production processes and facilities to the next level.  Someone that will embrace wearing multiple hats that a small company requires, while having fun and working like hell to get us to our growth goals for the coming years.

The details are below.

Lead in the development, implementation, and management of the operations strategy, as well as provide leadership for overall manufacturing of shelf stable, refrigerated, and fermented food products and support customer driven product development and commercialization.  This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations including, but not limited to, the daily operations and delivery of orders, inventories, staffing, efficiency, maintenance, sanitation, scheduling, and time management.

  • Maintain operation facility in highest level of cGMP compliance per FDA and Georgia Department of Agriculture
  • Maintain all documentation and necessary approvals for FDA and GDA compliance
  • Develop manufacturing plan and establish procedures to maintain high standard of operations to ensure products conform to established customer and company standards
  • Staffing to ensure timely delivery of products and product development projects while achieving optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead
  • Trains, develops, and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary and ensures compliances with federal and state regulations
  • Assisting CEO in establishing strategic directions for manufacturing resources and facility needs
  • Ensure continued operational efficiencies are realized and improved
  • Represent the company as the prime internal and external contact for manufacturing operations
  • Responsible for production staff safety
  • Coordinate all procurement of raw materials and maintain necessary inventory levels
  • Schedule production to maintain all finished good inventory levels and adjust as needed
  • Performs and manage all necessary repairs to ensure safe and functional operating equipment
  • Develop and maintain plant SOP’s, SSOP’s, and HACCP plan
  • Schedule and manage local deliveries and distributor orders

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years leadership experience in the Food or Beverage Manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or commensurate experience
  • Better Process Control School and HACCP certification
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and 3rd party inspectors
  • High documentation and written procedure skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, goal oriented, accountable
  • Good leadership and management skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and perform all job duties within manufacturing operations
  • Ability to work in various climates and sitting and standing for long periods of time
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Positive attitude and desire to work in a start up environment
