Company descriptionPatty Pan Cooperative is a thoughtful, progressive food business. We're primarily a farmers market concession, vending at 14 recurring weekly events. We also cater for large and small crowds, and we produce and deliver several wholesale products to area groceries. Lately we've been dabbling in bean-to-bar chocolate making.
We're a worker-owned cooperative whose members share ownership and decision-making. We value engagement, innovation, and collaboration, and our success depends on each member of our staff understanding the big picture and being willing and able to make autonomous decisions.
We work closely with the farmers who are our friends and neighbors at the markets. Helping them to thrive is a vital part of our mission. We source our ingredients creatively, often adapting our offerings to make use of surplus from area farms. Our recipes are simple and straightforward, showing off the area's bounty and encouraging customers to cook similar dishes from scratch.
We're looking for someone passionate about creating a thriving, sensible food system through the day to day work of preparing and serving high quality, locally sourced ingredients. This position includes primarily kitchen work, but we'll have some farmers' market shifts available as well. Applicants should be detail oriented, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn every aspect of the business.
Professional kitchen experience is a plus, but we're mainly looking for flexibility, integrity, and an eagerness to learn. The position will involve some heavy lifting and early mornings, especially on weekends.
The starting wage is $13/hour, but you'll also earn tips and bonuses for market work, and you'll have the opportunity to barter for a wealth of extraordinary food. Compensation increases steadily over time.
We'd love to find someone with a long term interest in becoming a member of our cooperative, a workplace democracy that values a range of voices and opinions.
CompensationThis position is PAID: hourly, under $15/hr
