Position Summary
Lucy's Whey is looking for a Cheesemonger. The Cheesemonger’s primary job is to sell cheese and engage and build relationships with customers. Additionally, the Cheesemonger creates visually appealing displays in the morning, maintains the displays throughout the day, receives deliveries, preps and cares for the cheese, and organizes the storage areas. The Cheesemonger is a true caretaker of cheese, ensuring a top quality product.  This is a part-time hourly position. 24-30 hrs per week, with possibility of full-time employment.

This position directs national sales for our growing brand of critically-acclaimed cured and cooked salumi products and artisanal prepared foods. Will work together with Chef/Founder Paul Bertolli and production and operations team members to assess market demands and to chart a natural course for our artisanal food products in all categories. Our Sales and Marketing Director will maintain accounts with an established and growing network of distributors, wholesalers, retailers and restaurants from San Francisco Bay Area office. Will travel regularly to build and maintain customer relationships. Will also direct a Sales Associate charged with managing and supporting all accounts in the greater Bay Area.
Responsibilities include
* Building and nurturing existing relationships with distributors, brokers, retailers and restaurants, troubleshooting as needed to maintain good relations
* Targeting suitable prospects and developing relationships to expand market penetration
* Spearheading promotional campaigns and new product launches with current customers and prospects
* Sales analysis and planning, working with production to match supply with demand in all categories
* Building brand awareness through marketing materials, trade show involvement, demos and promotions

Requirements
* Good general knowledge of the specialty food market and relevant distribution channels
* Dynamic, proven sales and marketing skills (existing relationships in the specialty food business strongly preferred)
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
* Outstanding people skills
* Strong organizational skills, working well under pressure and effectively juggling a number of tasks
* Proven ability to work independently, supervise effectively and contribute to a team effort

Requirements

    * Visit stores providing detailed information about Creminelli products, tell the story, create excitement
    * Assist stores to set their cases to display Creminelli products trying to get the best placement spot available.  Provide POS materials including crates, runners, deli cards, recipe cards and DVDs
    * Conduct formal and informal training for the staff of retail stores
    * Demonstrate the Creminelli product in stores
    * Solicit feedback from deli/specialty managers, store managers and deli/specialty staff and report on feedback
    * Meet with chefs and provide product information and preparation ideas
    * Respond to product concerns
    * Distribute items to remind customers to sell our products, i.e..  t-shirts, hats, aprons, knives etc

Summary Develop a strong, warm relationship with and become an invaluable tool for deli/specialty managers, chefs, store owners/managers and other Creminelli customers starting to use the product.

Suggestion At a new store roll out, figure out your best point of contact and assure you get their cell phone number and email address.

EXISTING STORES
    * Develop and maintain relationships with retailers, know them personally
    * Maintain and update a list of retailers that carry Creminelli products, and track usage
    * Communicate with retailers when there are new products or new tools for retailers, i.e.... awards, articles, press.
    * Develop a means of regular communication with retailers
    * Look for promotion opportunities and other ways to improve product movement
    * Relay retailer feedback to Creminelli management, suggestions for improvement
    * Distribute items to remind customers to sell our products, i.e..  t-shirts, hats, aprons, knives etc

Summary Assure that Creminelli customers know that there is a support system and friend present to help them succeed with the Creminelli product.

Suggestion Don’t let a day go by that you don’t reach out to at least five stores.
