OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN START-UP
NonaBrooklyn
Brooklyn, NY

My name is Steve Mayne and I’m the co-founder of NonaBrooklyn (www.nonabrooklyn.com), a website that helps Brooklynites connect with the local and artisan food scene.  On our site, local food purveyors (chefs, shop owners, bakers, farmers, brewers, etc) post quick updates about "what's good today," sort of like a sidewalk chalkboard--but online.  We just launched in May and have about 70 local shops, restaurants, bars, microbreweries, farmers and artisans signed up; we're even working with NYC Greenmarkets, who run over 45 farmers markets across NYC (12 in Brooklyn).

Each week, we offer a variety of deals and giveaways to increase awareness of the site and help promote the local food scene.  The giveaways change each week and feature Nona members like local restaurants, shops, microbreweries, bars, etc that use local or handmade food/drinks.  We also work with local shops and restaurants to offer a weekly deal via our newsletter.  For more details, you can check out our blog here: www.nonabrooklyn.com/NonaBrooklyn/Blog.

We're looking to spread the word and help bring more attention to the incredible, local food community in Brooklyn!  We're looking for help on this project since it's just the two co-foundersright now.  If you're really passionate about local food and you have either a web design/development background or a journalism/writing background, perhaps you'd be interested in joining us?  Feel free to contact me any time: smayne@nonabrooklyn.com.  I'd love to hear from you!
