Good Food Jobs is a gastro-job search tool, designed to link people looking for meaningful food work with the businesses that need their energy, enthusiasm, and intellect. We post opportunities with farmers and food artisans, policy makers and purveyors, retailers and restaurateurs, economists, ecologists, and more.

the gastrognomes is a blog for food lovers who want to put their passions to work. We profile the most interesting, engaging, and unlikely food professionals that we find, and we publish them here to inspire you.

Just when we think "Surely nobody reads our emails every week..." we discover that you do. After last week's newsletter, we heard from a few dozen folks interested in starting up food-related businesses. We appreciate the time it took to write and share your stories. With each additional inquiry or insight, we are improving our ability to brainstorm ideas, create resources, and connect people in a meaningful way.
And for those of you out there who were too nervous to write last week, or felt that your inquiry didn't quite match our call for action, it's never too late to reach out. We're always here, happy to help in whatever way we can. NOTE: There are still a few inquiries that folks sent late in the week that we haven't responded to yet. Sorry for the delay!
SPECIAL NOTE: We are really excited for this week's blog with Annemarie Ahearn (see below). We heard Annemarie's interview on Heritage Radio Network a few weeks ago and fell in love with her ethos and execution (we'd already fallen in love with Salt Water Farm as soon as we learned of its existence last year). If you have any desire to move out of an urban environment, beware: her words may just convince you to go for it.
It's all just another reminder of how inspired we are, on a daily basis, by the things that people are doing, the ways that they are communicating, and the strength of this burgeoning community. We have not yet reached the power of our full potential to change the world through food, and that's the most inspiring possibility of all.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy
