WE STARTED GOOD FOOD JOBS . . .
with a simple premise . . . if work is the way that most of us spend a large portion of our waking hours, then being more mindful about where, how, and with whom we all work could have a big impact on shifting our culture into more healthful, fulfilling, and meaningful ways of being.
In a lot of ways, we’re not ‘moving to something new and better’ so much as unlearning and re-learning ancient or indigenous ways of being in this world - reconnecting with the rituals, intuition, and connection that has been methodically severed along the way by the systems and structures that prioritize profit and capital accumulation over true wealth in the form of groundedness, kinship, and authenticity.
We’ve always honored that lasting shifts do not necessarily come in rapid ‘aha’ moments or sweeping change, but rather through the process of collecting countless experiences that allow us to connect the dots with repeated practice. This work takes patience, persistence, and humility.
We’re in the throes of re-imagining parts of the website (in particular the home page, the area currently known as ‘Education’, and the general organizational structure of the site) in ways that reflect the spectrum of what we do. Yes, the job search is the literal engine that attracts many people to a ‘your work is your identity’ culture - but it is the community care that keeps so many of you coming back. It is building healthy relationship with ourselves, each other, and the creative life force that connects us all that truly brings us alive (hat tip to Ginny Muir, who introduced me to this foundational framework).
Thank you for being a part of this process. Good Food Jobs represents one aspect of this life work that holds so much meaning for us - and we are so grateful to share the experience with you.
