HAVE YOU EVER . . .

said a word so many times that it starts to lose meaning? In the food world we've been through many iterations - gourmet, organic, artisan, and sustainable. By the time they become ubiquitous they also seem to become diluted. It's a conundrum as we all continue to try to express our interest in food - how it is fundamentally about so much more than the food. It's about everything the food connects with and represents - labor practices, nourishment, connection and togetherness, economics, politics, physiology, psychology, sociology, nature, culture.

Beyond Words

That is why we are all for alternative forms of expression that push the boundaries of the written word. Although we do love words, they are but one part of our collective toolkit, and there are so many others worth exploring and exercising to tell the story of what food means.

This week's blog post features Fiona from Real Food Media. They are still accepting entries for their Real Food Films contest, and we hope that you'll consider participating. This is but one way for you to get involved and help amplify voices in the sustainable food movement - using so much more than just words.

Cheers,
