ISSUE NO. 461

SOME WEEKS THIS NEWSLETTER SEEMS . . .

too short a space to sum up all of the thoughts racing through our minds. At such a time, the hardest part is distilling things down into manageable bits. This week we're ruminating on two main ideas:

1) MAKE THE TIME // Life is short. Carve out time for whatever it is that makes you whole. That could be going to bed early, visiting family from afar, or making sure that you catch the fleeting pick-your-own fruit of choice (be it cherry, strawberry, blueberry, or peach). Maybe your version of bliss is hitting up the swimming hole, or signing up for / training / running a 5k. Whatever it is, set aside some time for it. The seasons whip by if you don't make an active effort to appreciate them.

2) ENJOY WHAT YOU DO // You may not be able to 'do it all', but whatever you do commit to, make it your business to enjoy it to the fullest. There's no use in wishing that you were elsewhere (and for the record, our latest blog story makes this especially challenging) when there's beauty and joy to be had right in front of you.

If you are having trouble carving out time for something special, a la the introduction above, here are two resources that might reveal the easiest place to steal time from: our phones. Unplug, or see what can happen when you don't.

Why the 4-day work week could help save our planet.
