ISSUE NO. 454

MOTHER'S DAY . . .

is around the corner, bringing with it a whole host of thoughts and emotions. While the Hallmark holiday has taken on quite a literal - and limited - meaning, we still enjoy the opportunity to celebrate the breadth of motherhood and what it represents.

Motherhood, synonymous with creation and caring. Motherhood, whether to humans or animals or ideas or businesses. Motherhood, taking responsibility for the care and creation of something that can be at once exhausting and enlightening. Motherhood, an unending exercise in vulnerability. Motherhood, a term we lovingly bestow upon people, regardless of gender, who embody the best of what the word represents. To those that toil and take care, without being asked. To those that spread health and wealth.

Here's to celebrating the unending acts of motherhood we see all around, including the great mother to us all: Mother Earth. We see your efforts. They make the world a more vibrant place.

To creation,
