Good Food Jobs is a gastro-job search tool, designed to link people looking for meaningful food work with the businesses that need their energy, enthusiasm, and intellect. We post opportunities with farmers and food artisans, policy makers and purveyors, retailers and restaurateurs, economists, ecologists, and more.

the gastrognomes
is a blog for food lovers who want to put their passions to work. We profile the most interesting, engaging, and unlikely food professionals that we find, and we publish them here to inspire you.

ON THE WEB

Our job search engine is a work in progress. Check out these and other web developments on goodfoodjobs.com :

We tinkered with the code for the BACK TO SEARCH RESULTS button so that if you click on an individual job post and want to go back, you will wind up right where you left off (instead of at the top).

Those seeking work in our nation's capital can rest assured that the search parameters are working smoothly now. If you're still having trouble finding jobs in DC or elsewhere, please let us know. We're always testing the search engine and it can always be improved.

Do you have a recommendation? Constructive criticism? Or have you noticed a glitch? Let us know. And stay tuned for more updates. We're always scheming.

NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY

I found my job through GFJ and have been there for almost 2 years. I started as an intern then moved up to editorial assistant and now assistant editor. I have my own website and freelance for titles as well. It's been great. I love GFJ!
                             - Amy, GFJ Success Story

Every time I'm on the site I'm astounded at how rapidly it's grown and is continuing to grow.
                             - Matt, GFJ User

I have twice job searched using GFJ. Now I am getting ready to hire two new staff people and will be posting on your site. LOVE IT. Thanks for all you do to grow the good food movement!
                      - Cassie, GFJ User

We are so pleased to be of service.

Your computer is a TOOL, not a toy. And it's what you do with this tool that is most important to your job search. If you hide behind it, chances are that even if the perfect job comes along, you won't be ready for it.

You've got to get out there. Literally.

Here are two ways you can do that this Spring:

  • This Friday is the Good Food Jobs Get Together at the Just Food Conference. Over 400 people are signed up to join us, and there's still room for you.
    Friday March 29th 5:30 - 7:30 PM
    New York, NY
  • Attend the Slow Money National Gathering. Break bread and share ideas. Speakers include Carlo Petrini, Joan Gussow, and Wes Jackson.
    April 29th - 30th
    Boulder, CO

We at Good Food Jobs spend a lot of time thinking about grocery stores and food markets. They are both essential and pleasurable parts our lives. A bad one can dampen our spirits, a great one can lift us up to cloud nine. Hearing Kira's story makes us wish that every grocery and market in the country had someone like her behind the shelves. Read More
