WE SAY IT ALL THE TIME . . .
because it's a message that warrants repeating: Good Food Jobs is nothing without the collection of unique, caring, thoughtful, hard-working, engaging people that use it.
We've spent many hours these past two weeks logging all of the correspondence from folks who want to be connected to other GFJ users in their area. This started as just a little seed that we planted in the newsletter. But just like seeds, it's yielded something far greater than we could have designed.
We're just starting to connect folks today, but even in the initial stages we've learned so much. For instance, we've always had a strong contingent of users in NYC and the Bay Area, but were stoked to see how many folks from Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, and DC have been reading. And while we expected people to be into cooking and farmers' markets, we were delighted to see statements of interest in regenerative agriculture, herbal medicine, gluten free baking, and homesteading. One of these connection seekers is completing a Fulbright in India, and another loves 'spending too long at the grocery store'.
Here's to meaningful connections,

tidbits...
what we’re reading / listening to / watching / noticing / thinking about / captivated by this Tuesday…
Seth Godin is diving deep into The Business of Food: 'This is your chance to understand the ecosystem and to actually do something about it.' (hint: click on the green leaf for a deep discount on this workshop - the discount gets smaller with each passing day)
Calling all NYC chefs. There are a few days left to enter the Zero Food Waste Challenge.
This epic job deserves an extra shout out. If you or anyone you know has the qualifications to run the National Young Farmers Coalition, be sure to reach out.
On the list of things we take for granted: the true north.
got a tidbit? drop it here for us, and you just might see it in next week's newsletter.
