BjornQorn is a solar popcorn company that produces in the Hudson Valley. We began popping our popcorn over giant mirrored dishes that we invented and built ourselves. Now business has grown so fast we are opening a solar electric facility just down the road. The corn we pop is primarily grown on Bjorn's family farm in Minnesota, and the seasoning is vegan and nut free. Our primary business is wholesale to grocery stores in the New York region, specializing in the Hudson Valley and New York City.
Job description
We are seeking a production/warehouse employee to operate our popping and packaging equipment. The ideal candidate would be attentive, careful, hygienic, and able to be self directed. Key responsibilities include:<br />
<ul>
<li>Setup, operation, and cleanup of popping equipment</li>
<li>Loading, operation, troubleshooting, and cleaning of bagging equipment</li>
<li>Preparing and packing orders for shipment via USPS and FedEx</li>
<li>One day a week local deliveries in Hudson Valley</li>
<li>Store demonstrations as needed</li>
<li>General cleaning and tidying </li>
</ul>
Requirements: Moderate lifting should be expected as popcorn bags weigh 50lbs although after its popped the lifting gets pretty light. Driver's license.<br /><br /> Additional skills: Computer/digital aptitude, tinkering<br /><br /> This is our first hire so the right candidate will have ample opportunity to expand their role in the company. They can also get involved with solar cooker research and development if the person is so interested.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, under $15/hr
