Job description
A Kitchen Generalist at Perelandra spends their time being trained and working in every department in our Kitchen. A Generalist will operate as a Kitchen Assistant, Packager, Sandwich Maker, Grab & Go Cook, Hot Bar Cook, Pastry Cook, and Juice Bar Server/Barista. We’re looking for a candidate with cooking experience who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment and working with vegan/vegetarian foods. A Kitchen Generalist at Perelandra can look forward to learning a wide variety of tasks, working in multiple stations, increasing their knowledge of natural and organic foods, providing a valuable service to the community, and being a part of a unified team focused on cooperation and quality!
Responsibilities include:
- Train and work in each department in Kitchen: Kitchen Assistant, Packager, Sandwich Station, Grab & Go Cook, Hot Bar/Soup Cook, Pastry Cook, Juice/Coffee Bar Staff
- Cutting, prepping, assembling, packaging, and stocking all menu items
- Properly follow all prep lists
- Politely greet all potential customers in Kitchen area, politely and accurately responding to customer inquiries
- Cleaning and maintaining all stations in safe, sanitary, and well-organized manner,
- Maintains a high level of awareness of the needs of each area of the kitchen
- Ensure each station is fully stocked with utensils, implements, and/or tools needed for each day
- Assist in maintaining overall cleanliness of the Kitchen, including emptying all trashcans and compost bins, replacing liners, washing dishes, etc.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15/hr +
