The Brooklyn Brine pickle factory in Industry City, Sunset Park, Brooklyn is looking for a full-time production crew member to join our team.
We are right about 9 years old, and have had an amazing growth spurt, making our product available nation and worldwide! All of this without compromising the integrity of our product. All of our production is done by hand by a small crew in our Brooklyn factory, with no artificial ingredients or crisping agents. We make real food!!!
A day at Brooklyn brine consists of the following:
*Daily production of shelf stable, and/or food service pickles. (cleaning, prepping vegetables, mixing spice mix, making brine, filling, capping, processing (shelf-stabilizing), labeling, palletizing, daily ph testing), small batch fermentation, weekly inventory, building/wrapping orders, lifting of up to 50 lbs, etc.
We ask that applicants have professional kitchen experience, basic knife skills, experience handling kitchen equipment, ability to lift 50 lbs, and work well as part of a team. We will train the ins and outs of pickling from there!
We'll be very busy this summer, but there is the possibility this might be seasonal work if business slows down too much in the winter. However, for the right person, there is definitely room for growth within the company.
We have a Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm schedule, with some overtime.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $14.00 - $17.00
