Job description
Students in the Food Systems and Health Concentration are preparing to address the health needs and inequities of our rapidly changing world and build sustainable food system solutions. They:
- Engage in systems thinking to address issues in complex food systems.
- Learn topics in nutritional security, food justice, food safety, and epidemiology.
- Use interdisciplinary methods from ecology, plant science, economics, sociology and more.
- Participate in hands-on opportunities for community-based and engaged public health in local and international contexts.
- Apply One Health, and Planetary Health perspectives to public health.In our professional degree program, founded on the One Health and Planetary Health paradigms, you will:
- Cornell University faculty and students pursue innovative and exciting public health research and practice.
- Learn the links between the health of humans and the ecosystem.
- Use multidisciplinary, systems approaches to consider and address the social, economic, and behavioral drivers that shape health.
- Become well-prepared for the public health workforce by planning and doing real public health work with communities.
