The French Laundry Culinary Garden grows and supplies high quality and unique produce, herbs, flowers and fruit to Chef Thomas Keller's restaurants in the Napa Valley. These restaurants include The French Laundry, a three Michelin starred fine dining concept, Bouchon, a one Michelin starred bistro, ad hoc, a family-style American restaurant, and La Calenda, a casual, Oxacan Mexican restaurant. We manage our flagship 3-acre culinary garden in Yountville proper, as well as a 1-acre farm and 1-acre orchard in North Napa.
Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking a farm hand to join our team, whose responsibilities would encompass all those pertaining to daily labor across our properties.
This will include but is not limited to:
- Harvesting, planting, seeding, weeding, tilling, prepping, and mulching
- Daily maintenance of seasonal crops
- Daily care of farm animals
All candidates must embody the following characteristics:
- Hard work ethic
- Positive attitude
- Respect for farm product and fellow co-workers
- Strong willingness and desire to learn
- Ability to perform in the elements, including hot summer sun and cold winter rains
Preferably but not essential, candidates will have at minimum one year of farming experience. Culinary experience and an understanding of the culinary arts is very beneficial.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15/hr +
