Front Porch Farm is a 110-acre diverse organic farm situated on the Russian River just 10 minutes from downtown Healdsburg in Northern California. Each year we grow roughly 10 acres of vegetables and berries, 4 acres of cut flowers, 3 acres of Floriani flint corn, 14 acres of wine grapes and a maintain a plethora of fruit trees. At our neighboring property—Acorn Ranch—we also raise heritage pork and lamb. With ecological farming principles at the heart of what we do, we strive to be responsible stewards of the land.

At Front Porch Farm the days are long and the tasks are strenuous, so we aim to build a team with strong work ethic that supports each other in maintaining a positive & healthy working environment. We strive to find the delicate balance between working hard and having fun. Our community is bilingual and multicultural, and some of our farm’s core values are inclusivity and connection across these lines. We work 40-50 hours per week on the farm with occasional weekend responsibilities.

Vegetable Crew Member: Full- Time

About:  We grow year-round to supply our produce at 3-4 weekly Farmer’s Markets in San Rafael and Healdsburg, and to chefs and grocery stores through our local wholesaler F.E.E.D Sonoma. Some of our standout crops include strawberries, heirloom & cherry tomatoes, lettuces, sweet peppers, and garlic. We specialize in heat loving crops in the summer and utilize storage crops and season extension techniques to have a bounty throughout all four seasons. We are committed to exceptionally high quality product, crop diversity, and efficient growing practices that build and nurture the soil.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Harvesting!
• Post- Harvest Handling: washing, sorting, packing, delivering
• Fieldwork: planting, weeding, mulching, spraying and more
• Greenhouse work: sowing, thinning, potting up
• Rotating weekend work: Farmer’s Markets, U-Picks, occasional on-farm events

Desired Skills & Experience:

• 1-3 years experience working on a production farm (No experience necessary)
• Ability to hustle!
• Innate attention to detail
• Seeking team players who are generally easy-going by nature
