RealEats is a meal delivery company that uses sous-vide technology to deliver fresh, never-frozen, thoughtfully prepared meals using premium quality, mostly organic ingredients that are free of preservatives, additives or junk of any kind. The meals are all prepared in Geneva, NY using the best of NY state, and we currently offer dinner and breakfast items. Meals are heated in BPA-free bags in boiling water, and dishes are ready in max 6 minutes. We are focused on health as well as the reduction of food waste.
Job description
Who You Are: A Chef with deep knowledge of plant-based cuisine and a knack for creating flavorful dishes. You recognize the value of quality ingredients, can adapt to ESG and nutritional guidelines, and are inspired by technology. You are creative and ready to work in a start-up environment.
Responsibilities: - Work closely with the Head of Culinary for RealEats to create 6-8 plant-based meals for the RealEats menu in keeping with the company's nutritional guidelines and sourcing standards
- Test these recipes out to be produced at scale
- Develop recipes that work for cross-utilization of ingredients and techniques to create individual meals and/or meal plans that build upon themselves
Skills/Requirements - Deep level of understanding of plant-based cuisine
- At least 3 years experience in plant-based recipe development or in a vegetarian/plant-based restaurant
- Understand production timeline, COGs and menu development
- Collaborative spirit
- Must live in the New York City (5 boroughs) area
