Our family owned Kauai - island based farm/business is helping to keep the agricultural legacy of the Hawaiian Islands alive.

A fast growing, wildly successful retail, wholesale, and online business created with a vision; to grow each pineapple plant like a hobby plant, to never settle for good enough, to dream big and work hard and have fun doing it. Hole in the Mountain Farm is the largest Sugarloaf White Pineapple farm in the State of Hawaii. My husband and I started with raw land and 11 years ago we started planting Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple plants. Currently we have over 300,000 Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple plants growing on 11 acres of our 37 acre farm. My husband and I work most everyday, hands on with our employees, doing many of the same jobs we expect of our employees and we are in our 60's. We sell at local health food stores, we ship wholesale to other specialty markets in Hawaii, and we have an online business that ships freshly harvested, ready to eat Kauai Sugarloaf to any address within the United States.

Kauai Sugarloaf White Pineapple is a natural variety, an exotic, has a creamy smooth, juicy sweet, white flesh and is truly a low acid pineapple, not a marketing ploy. Even the core is soft and sweet, not woody and stringy like yellow pineapple. Mother Nature made this variety and it is easily the best tasting, sweetest pineapple in the world. One taste and everyone agrees.

Our farm is on the NorthEastern coast of Kauai in an area known as Moloaa. We are obsessed with growing the best Sugarloaf pineapple and we stop at nothing to bring the freshest, sweetest, most beautiful pineapple to our customers. There is no expense too great if it will result in a better pineapple. We hand wrap our pineapple in paper to protect it from sunburn, we protect our plants, even stake them up one at a time because every plant matters. We don't believe in good enough, we want the best.

We are still amazed at how many customer write to us to thank us for growing this pineapple. We are often overwhelmed with the outpouring of gratitude, appreciation, and love we receive from our customers. We get Christmas cards, we get family pictures of loved ones with great smiles holding their pineapples, we get gifts from customers. It is a little hard to believe they are paying us. We call our table at the farmers market the "Oh wow" table because the most frequently heard comment at our table after a potential customer tries one of our samples is "WOW, that is the best pineapple I have ever eaten". Job description

Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple, Hole in the Mountain Farm is looking for an Order Fulfillment Assistant to start immediately at 20-40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible. Wages $15 + depending on experience.

You will work under the supervision of the owner to help facilitate the preparation, packaging, and shipping of Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple to customers across the country. You must be organized, detail oriented, have a positive work attitude, great work ethic and a sense of pride about the work you accomplish. You must be ready to work on a myriad of tasks that make up our unique shipping operation, keep a good work pace, follow directions, work as a team as well as independently and unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• creating FedEx labels from internet orders
• preparing pineapple for shipment
• packing pineapple for shipment
• managing email questions and concerns
• maintaining inventory of shipping supplies

Job Qualifications

• Basic computer skills a must
• Ability to use Word
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• A desire to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
• Professional work ethic and effective communication skills
• Ability to take direction and follow established guidelines
• Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and also work as a team to meet hard deadlines
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks (such as sealing boxes) efficiently and precisely, understanding that we sell an exotic, perishable product that must meet our high quality standards to satisfy our customers
• Ability to meet physical demands including extended periods of standing throughout the day, and lifting up to 40lbs
• Ability to take on additional tasks as needed based on the changing needs of a small business

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15/hr +
