Job description
The Boise Farmers Market (BFM) is looking for a Market Manager to take over all responsibilities of operating the market in Boise, Idaho. BFM is a well recognized nonprofit organization with a wide reach of vendors and customers. This is a full time, year-round position. Learn more about BFM at www.theboisefarmersmarket.com

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Manage the operations of the Farmers Market along with staff/volunteer oversight
- Provide vendor recruitment, support, training, communication and retention efforts
- Develop advertising and promotional program including newsletters, social media posts and special events planning
- Perform financial accounting, manage a budget and conduct market analysis
- Make BFM a destination for residents/visitors by focusing on high quality agricultural/food products, market-based educational activities and entertainment
- Help secure a year-round location for the market along with permitting from local authorities
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE FOR THE MARKET MANAGER WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
- Outstanding customer service skills and ability to communicate with individuals/groups
- Multi-tasker with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Tech savvy and creative problem-solver
- Successful community builder with a proven ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds as needed for market set-up/breakdown
- Passion for the Boise community and the value of fresh, local food
- Minimum of three years professional experience in a related field such as marketing, public relations, event coordination, fundraising, nonprofit or project management
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent of training and progressive responsibility
- Previous experience working for a nonprofit or running a farmer’s market preferable
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be competitive according to the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
