Company description
There are more hungry people in New York than there are citizens of San Francisco.
At Lemontree we show up every day at work and solve this problem. We’re a non-profit that sells family dinner.
Our systemic solution helps low-income families set the table with a dignified, affordable and healthy dinner. We deliver meal-kits with everything a parent needs to cook a delicious meal for just $2 per serving. We’re a small team of five that operates like a high-growth startup. We’ve raised money from some of the top VCs and founders in NYC and we've delivered over 20,000 meals (we launched in mid 2018).
Job description
We're looking for a remote recipe tester to help us test and improve delicious, healthy, recipes for low-income families.
We'll pay you a flat rate per recipe ($25) to help us understand how we can make it easier and more delicious.
Your job is simple: cook a recipe while closely following our written instructions. As you cook, you'll let us know how we're doing on the key elements of the recipe through a simple form. Is it easy? Is it dignified? Is it kid friendly?
Our customers aren't quite like most other organizations and we have a lot to do to serve them with dignity:
Our customers deserve the best. We believe that poor families deserve a quality dinner–which means we need you to be a a talented chef with a knack for creating tasty recipes.
Our meal budgets are tiny. We exist to help low-income families stretch tight budgets–which means we need you to be adept at costing out recipes and squeezing them into tiny ingredient costs (don't worry, we have a fancy tool that makes the math easy).
Health is key. Our mission is to help families eat healthy–which means that everything we serve needs to have lots of vegetables.
We serve kids. The families we work with have young kids at home–which means we need recipes that are mainstream and approachable for even the pickiest eaters. Our top recipes are BBQ Chicken and Mac and Cheese.
