Company description
Low-income families deserve better.
This month, more than a million moms, dads and kids across New York will go hungry.
We show up every day and solve this problem. Lemontree is a non-profit that sells family dinner. We deliver meal-kits with everything families need to cook a delicious meal for just $2 per serving. Lemontree dinners cost less than store-bought groceries and help NYC parents stretch a tight budget.
We’re growing fast
Last year, we delivered about 3,000 meals. This year, we’re already on track to grow that number by 1,000%. We’re a non-profit that scales like a startup.
And we have the money to make a real impact– in our first year in business, we raised more than two million dollars from a world-class family of donors including the founder of Shake Shack, and the first investors in Uber, Twitter, Etsy, and more. Now we’re using that money to hire the best.
Job description
To date, we’ve grown our donor base organically. Our founder mined his personal networks to find folks who could support our mission financially.
As we prepare for the next chapter, that won’t be enough. We’re getting serious about researching and identifying our next big donors.
As a development intern, you’ll act as our researcher-in-chief. You will mine the depths of the internet for our perfect donor. We’ll provide themes and tactics and you will get to work tying together different sources into a comprehensive list of future supporters.
As a self-starter, you’ll take ownership over this work and spend 10-20 hours per week working from our office. We’re extremely flexible when it comes to days of the week worked (as long as they’re Monday-Friday) and we pay $15 an hour.
