Obercreek Farm is a USDA certified organic farm located in the hamlet of Hughsonville, NY and has been in production since 2012. We grow diversified seasonal vegetables, flowers, and herbs for our 100-member CSA, onsite farmstand, and several wholesale customers throughout the Hudson Valley. We strive to provide the highest quality produce without compromising the health of our ecological communities or farmers.
Job description
The Farm Stand Manager position leads daily operations of the onsite farm stand. They work with the Farm Manager to set store priorities, practices, and systems to maximize sales and customer satisfaction. In coordination with the Farm Manager they will select product lists, develop pricing, seasonal displays and promotions, and manage weekly ordering and receiving of inventory. The position will conduct training and coordination of farm stand employees, maintain well-stocked and attractive displays, implement National Organic and food safety Practices, and perform scheduled cleanings. They will have a high familiarity with seasonal produce and its uses and can help customers with recipe suggestions. This is a seasonal position, with an expected 40hrs weekly April-November.

Directly Manages: Farm stand employees
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate weekly orders and deliveries from multiple vendors
- Collaborate with Farm Manager to set floor display aesthetics and product variety
- Analyze expense and sales trends and make adjustments, as necessary, to stand operations, ordering and sales
- Order and receive products and services needed for daily operations of the stand
- Operate and coordinate usage of Square POS, balancing with cash transactions
Requirements:
- A sense of humor and the ability to work effectively in a team setting or solo
- Experience receiving, processing, and merchandising produce and grocery items. Experience with Square a plus
- Punctuality and a detail-oriented attitude
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and spend 8+ hours standing
- Passion for the principles of sustainable food and farming
- Flexibility in scheduling, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
- A diligent approach to safety and sanitation
- A team player with a willingness to jump in and help with all tasks. A self-starter and hard-worker
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15/hr +
