Food Literacy Programs Manager
This position reports to the Director of Marketing and can be based in Boulder, Colorado, Austin, Texas, or San Francisco, California. Salary exempt.
Role Summary
In this role, you will be working closely with the Marketing, Communications & Engagement team to guide and direct a nationwide food literacy and educational program that brings the client’s vision to life.
The position, reporting to the Director of Marketing, Communications & Engagement, will work in tandem with on-site culinary chefs, culinary directors and the Global Program Manager to leverage food literacy programming across more than 15 sites across the U.S.
Expectations
- Partner with the client to set strategy, align on program goals and measurable targets
- Act as a liaison between all stakeholders and partners (internal and external) to ensure alignment and efficiency across global regions
- Define, develop, and deploy scalable training, teaching materials and curriculum
- Strategically align program efforts across the region by proactively identifying areas of opportunity
- Collaborate with food literacy experts in education, nutrition, culinary, sustainability and well-being to identify priorities and content for all teaching materials
- Drive user engagement strategies and program development to increase new user participation
- Maximize the impact of sustainable diets and overall well being of participants
- Communicate program KPIs and impact to program sponsors and stakeholders on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis
- Lead the development of new policies, processes, systems and tools to deliver a systematized approach that compliments the approach of vendor partners and the client
- Coordinate program requirements, marketing and promotional plans and best practices
- Utilize communication channels to amplify core programming initiatives and priorities
- Evaluate and measure ROI of all programming initiatives
- Provide key resources and support for staff, including chefs and admins, from program launch to execution
- Develop overall strategy to optimize teaching kitchen spaces for external community at large
Key Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree, culinary experience (and a passion for food education) a plus
- Marketing and/or communications experience
- Excellent English communication skills: verbal, written, editing, proofreading, and grammar
- Strong organization and customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously, with little supervision while understanding and respecting approval channels
- Experience using process and planning to deliver consistent results to expectations
- Ability to quickly gain credibility with local key stakeholder groups and collaborate/support cross-functional teams
- Track record of effectively managing and delivering against multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent change management skills; anticipates risk and offers recommended solutions
- Demonstrated aptitude in resilience and grit
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in Google Apps, presentation development, and word processing
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and dynamic environment
- Out-of-the-box fresh thinker with the ability to execute and plan within brand guidelines
- Experience in managing a diverse set of stakeholders and user groups
- Passion for food!
Physical demands and work environment
- Position requires use of a computer terminal up to 8 hours per day at intervals.
- Employee must be able to work on their feet 8 hours per day excluding breaks.
- Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.

this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $80,000.00 - $110,000.00
