Good Food Jobs is more than an online job search engine. We’re a community of people from all over the globe with diverse backgrounds and common goals. We have questions to ask, and stories to tell.
We at GFJ headquarters (Taylor and Dorothy) are constantly working to reflect the sense of community that has grown around GFJ since we launched the website and blog in 2010. Our blog platform, GFJ Stories, is a big part of this effort, and that’s where you come in!
Job descriptionDo you love to connect with people and give their stories a voice? Are you an exceptional interviewer, writer and/or photographer? We're looking for talented storytellers to help us maintain the GFJ blog as a more dynamic platform representing diverse food-related career paths across the United States, and far beyond.
If you're interested in researching and interviewing people who work in food, we're looking for stories of people who:
- represent diversity of ethnicity, age, and/or gender
- represent geographical diversity within Middle America (i.e. not the east or west coast), Canada, South and Central America, the Middle East and Africa (excluding South Africa for the time being, as we have published two stories from that location in the past two years)
- represent diversity of career type - especially the categories of Education, Media, Design and Production, as they relate to the food industry.
- represent diversity of career path - we have featured a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners in the last two years, and are especially looking for stories of entry level or mid level employees
Compensation for the written portion of the stories (approximately 1,000 words) is a contracted fee of $800, including all expenses. We budget separately for photography.
