Shelsky's Of Brooklyn is an 8 year old appetizing shop and delicatessen. We sell fine smoked fish, including a wide selection of hand-sliced smoked salmon, whitefish, herring, sable and more. We also sell pastrami, corned beef, and other deli meats as well as great sandwiches, bagels and bialys, specialty grocery items and home baked sweets.

Job description

Do you have a solid 1+ year managing a specialty retail food store or large department of a gourmet food store? Are you great at merchandising? Do you love the food retail business and want to lead a tight-knit team of hard workers?

The manager we're looking for is someone who answered yes to all of those questions!

What's this job all about?
1) Managing a team of 5 hard-working folks, including helping customers, working the counter and register
2) Managing catering and shipping
3) Regularly merchandising the store shelves, keeping the store organized
4) Inventory and ordering
5) Daily reports emailed to owners
6) Regular communication with owners
7) Organizing the weekly and daily production schedule with the kitchen and with our bagel needs from our bagel store

We are pretty hands-on owners, which means that we like to be on top of everything going on in our store. We're not micromanagers though. We're really looking for that rockstar who's going to take ownership of this position. This is a really fun place to work with a whole many great regular customers that, over the years, have become our friends! We invite you to come work with some great people, selling some seriously great food!

Compensation

this position is: salaried, $50,000 to $100,000
