Little Red Fox, a café, bakery & market in upper NW DC, is looking for an experienced coffee professional to run our specialty coffee program and help oversee our front of house operation. We are a fast paced restaurant that does a busy brunch service and pride ourselves on a stellar coffee program using Coava Coffee Roasters out of Portland, OR. This job has two main focuses: coffee quality control and training and supporting FOH flow during peak business.Job Responsibilities & Expectations:- Manage inventory and order all coffee, tea, and related supplies- Supervise barista training & performance utilizing our training materials, standards & brew guides.- Keep all coffees dialed in (espresso, pour over, batch brew) & tasting great.- Maintain first class drink quality and standards.- Develop seasonal drink specials.- Maintain system for coffee equipment maintenance / cleaning.- Be a leader: set an example for baristas with a helpful attitude, clean work space, and pride in high quality drinks.- Provide constructive feedback to baristas & other FOH staff, direct workflow when acting as shift lead.- Cover shifts as needed for call outs.- Serve as a connection to the larger barista / coffee community, as well as maintain a strong relationship & communication with our coffee vendor.- Little Red Fox is a dynamic work environment and heavy food service cafe. It's imperative our coffee manager works efficiently and effectively with non-coffee tasks: ie., takes pride in running food orders, working the register, doing dishes, wiping down tables and all of the other little things that make a busy café a great and enjoyable experience for our customers.Qualifications:- 21 years or older.- Have at least 5 days of open availability during store hours per week including weekends ands holidays.- Can stand on your feet for length of shift and perform physically demanding tasks.- Have or obtain a Food Handler’s card & Alcohol Manager's License (*You can acquire after you receive a job offer, but must be in place within 4 weeks of starting. Compensation
