FireRoad is seeking a Culinary Assistant to join our kitchen and order fulfillment team. The position and operations are based in NYC. FireRoad is a start-up. This position is initially part-time on an hourly basis with the potential to quickly develop into a full time role with greater responsibilities as FireRoad launches and builds. The position offers opportunity for growth and advancement as FireRoad expands.

Job description

The Role

• Perform cooking and meal preparation duties as required to fulfill FireRoad orders including but not limited to:
• Meal ingredient preparation with strict adherence to FireRoad recipes and processes;
• Assembly of FireRoad meals according to specification, including packaging, labeling and other requirements;
• Assist with inventory management, delivery and storage;
• Assist with daily kitchen maintenance and cleaning tasks;
• Pick and pack food products for customer delivery;
• Process outbound shipments;
• Such other tasks as required to execute FireRoad’s offerings.
• Potential to manage; we can be somewhat flexible with role to fit right person

Qualifications

• Passion for healthy nutritious food and mission-based work.
• At least 5+ years experience with high volume food service production.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.
• Line cooking experience
• Able to see the forest through the trees
• Motivated, self starter
• Ability to take direction and work independently
• Organized and exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience in creating systems- experience with opening a restaurant a big plus
• Integrity + sense of humor
• Ability to adhere to strict safety and quality control standards.
• Must be 18+ years of age; authorized to work in the US.

We are a small, dedicated team with a passion for what we do.
The position will start on a part-time basis but move to full time a short amount of time. We pay through regular payroll.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $17.00 - $23.00
