Job Description:

• Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units
• Identify, evaluate, control and prevent hazards at all stages of the food production process
• Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies that are in compliance with GMP and HAACP plans
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
• Prepare production, yield and other reports
• Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
• Assign, direct, review and monitor production employees in the product quality standards, yield, labour efficiency and line speed areas
• Have a continuous presence on the production floor to provide immediate feedback, resolution and instruction to any issue impacting production’s ability to meet its goals

Requirements:

- Education: Completion of secondary school is required

- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in the food, beverage or associated products processing industry are required; if candidate does not have at least 2 years of experience, a college certificate or other specialized training in agriculture or food or beverage processing is required.

- Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points are a strong asset

Salary: $31.25 hourly, 40 - 50 Hours per week

Important Information: Position requires extended work hours and flexibility in schedule. Monday to Friday, start at 1:30pm and will work until 9:30pm or 11:30 depending on the production schedule – Weekend work and overtime required.
