About the Role
The Marketing Director role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned b2b marketing professional who is looking to engage in meaningful and impactful work. The role will lead all strategic marketing programs, create campaigns and other creative content, and oversee all external communications in support of our growth and retention goals.
The Marketing Director is a part of the senior leadership team and reports into the Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate has proven success planning and executing strategic marketing initiatives, a passion for food justice and social justice, and is prepared to carve out their own path in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Marketing: Refine and nurture Red Rabbit’s brand, focusing specifically on food justice. Develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns around the brand to drive partner renewals and sales. Manage external talent, such as designers and copywriters. Design all branded materials.
- Communication: Oversee all external communications including press outreach, social media, and community engagement. Work closely with internal Sales, Customer Service and Government Relations teams, to ensure their communication is consistent with brand and marketing strategies. Lead crisis communications as necessary. Develop and implement customer-facing feedback channels.
- Growth & Development: Support the growth of Red Rabbit into new markets by being a thought leader on strategy and messaging.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, business, or communications. MBA preferred.
- 5+ years working in marketing, public relations or a related field with proven success in planning and executing strategic initiatives in marketing and communications
- 2+ years experience managing a small team or department
- Design experience with the ability to create visual representations of our brand
- Track record of strong project management with the ability to carry out initiatives from start to finish
- Experience designing/maintaining digital platforms.
- Experience using data to drive and refine successful marketing campaigns
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
- Self-starter who is comfortable being “the expert” and working independently
- Experience working in schools/education is strongly preferred. Food or nutrition experience is a plus.
- Must share our passion improving nutrition in schools and see our work through the lens of social justice and equality

this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $90,000.00 - $110,000.00
