Job description

The Row 7 Warehouse and Fulfillment Manager will be an integral part of the Row 7 team, managing day-to-day warehouse operations and providing support and hospitality to our grower community. This role is best suited for self-starting, organized individuals with a strategic approach to managing systems, a passion for community building and a commitment to food systems change. This a full-time, year-round position.
 

Location: Newburgh, NY region (Mid Hudson Valley)
 

Responsibilities include:

Order Fulfillment

  • Oversee daily order fulfillment, including packing and checking orders and coordinating daily shipments

  • Manage seed and packaging inventory systems and coordinate seed packing and restocking

  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment

  • Document incoming seedlots and oversee germination and seed purity testing

  • Update Shopify website content to reflect accurate inventory and shipping notices

  • Organize and archive customer certifications and organic certification documents

  • Coordinate all on-site inspections

  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), regularly auditing systems and developing strategies to improve efficiency and quality of work

  • Oversee office and warehouse administrative tasks

Community Support
  • Answer questions and inquiries via phone and email in a timely, kind, and professional manner, including reception and/or troubleshooting of incoming orders

  • Ensure that customer issues are resolved satisfactorily

  • Support farmers and gardeners with variety-specific and general growing recommendations with emphasis on regenerative organic practices

  • Develop customer database and contact list

  • Support the development of technical growing resource

Other
  • Liaise between Row 7’s warehouse, Research Farm and main office

  • Support communications with seed growers as needed

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as needed or assigned


Required education and experience:
  • High school or equivalent required; BS or equivalent preferred

  • 2+ years experience farming or gardening, with a strong understanding of organic agriculture, soil enhancement and general ecological principles

  • General computer literacy, including G Suite; understanding of database management a plus

  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, Shopify and/or Shipstation a plus but not required
