Company description
We are small team of women based in Stuyvesant, NY. We have about 50 lovely goats that we graze rotationally, about 30 of which are currently milked for cheese production (AWA certified). We make chèvre, feta, a variety of soft ripened cheeses, and pesto. Everything is made on farm, and sold at NYC Greenmarkets and a few local stores.
Job description
Creamery help (Stuyvesant/Columbia County based):
- About 32-40 hours a week (4-5 days) we can discuss the schedule but have a preference for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. At least one weekend day will be required.
- Job will mostly entail packing/wrapping cheese, and washing/cleaning the cheese equipment, bulk tanks, vats, and such.
- We will want to train person on our goat milking procedures for some coverage on milking shifts.
- Looking for someone who enjoys making things meticulously shiny clean and happy working alone.
- We will train you to work our Hudson Farmer's Market table, and you'll sell there at least one Saturday per month.
- Cheese and farm experience not required - we encourage anyone with restaurant experience to apply too - FOH and BOH.
- $15/hr plus cheese and unlimited goat snuggles.
- We do not have any housing to offer.
