TITLE: Floor Manager/Sommelier
JOB TYPE: Full Time
REPORTS TO: Restaurant GM and Beverage Director
Description: We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced & energetic individual with FOH experience in the restaurant / hospitality industry who has a passion for this field. You will be a dining room manager and a wine expert responsible for guiding our guests to a great wine selection while ensuring proper service maintained on the floor according to company standards.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Excite, motivate and mentor staff in order to foster a team environment within the restaurant
• Floor supervision, staff & customer relations
• Recommend and sell wines and other beverages to guests
• Act as a liaison between the guest and our extensive wine list and cellar
• Possess commanding knowledge of the wine list, a thorough understanding of the menu and wine pairings
• Assist maintaining wine lists and beverage inventory
• Train wait staff and keep them up to date of all menu and schedule changes
• Maintain standards and practices set forth by company Requirements
• 2-3 years restaurant experience in a fine dining environment
• 1 year in a management role with a focus on service and leadership
• Passion for Italian food and wine with focus on product control and quality
• Outstanding customer service skills and be a team player
• Must be hospitality focused with a strong ability to sell
• Previous experience in a steakhouse environment is strongly preferred
• Good communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
• Basic computer skills and experience with computer reservations systems
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, polite, energetic and is a willing learner
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions
• Effectively multitask while remaining calm, organized and hospitable
