Spoon Full Farm is loyal to soil. With rotational grazing and no-till garden practices, we build soil while growing the highest quality food possible for our CSA members and market customers. The farm is located in sunny Thorp, Washington, on 240 acres, ~90 of which are irrigated with Yakima River water. We produce grass-fed beef and lamb, raw wildflower honey, and our renowned probiotic hot sauce, called Sun Sauce.

THIS JOB POSTING HAS TWO DIFFERENT JOBS. LOOKING TO HIRE A COUPLE WITH EACH PERSON DOING ONE JOB. INDIVIDUAL SALARIES WILL BE GIVEN.
Farm Operations Manager
The operations manager will be responsible for maintaining the things that make our production operations tick, including irrigation, infrastructure, equipment, tools, and barns and other facilities. The operations manager will also assist the livestock and marketing managers to set up and improve efficient systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Farm Operations
- Oversee maintenance and repair of infrastructure, equipment, and landscape.
- Ensure SFF standards are met in terms of ecological practices, product quality, and personnel happiness
- Ensure that the physical space on the farm reflects the quality of the brand
- Ensure that barns and other farm buildings are kept in an orderly manner and maintain an organized inventory of all equipment
- Create a regular schedule to check on the condition of all structures on property
- Assist livestock and marketing managers on infrastructure/system projects
- Other duties as assigned or as arise, including potential future infrastructure projects
- Walk-in freezer, compost toilet, additional fencing, etc.
- Create & oversee SOP for collection, jarring, and storing of honey
Pasture & Garden Co-management and irrigation
- Manage irrigation systems - check for and troubleshoot issues, implement weeding strategies, and optimize efficiency
- Coordinate with Livestock Manager for pasture’s hay production and weed management
- Coordinate with Livestock Manager to implement pastures’ irrigation schedule
- Assist garden manager with 2021 garden plans. (Not yet finalized.)
Admin
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and monthly board meetings
- Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations; reporting incidents to appropriate parties in a timely manner
- Check in with landowner frequently, updating on current projects and farm needs
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience working in agricultural production environments or equivalent. Livestock experience is a plus.
- Experience with operating, maintaining, and repairing equipment, machinery and power tools.
- A self-starter attitude, with the ability to get things done independently.
- A detail-oriented approach, with considerable attention to order, cleanliness, and an ongoing commitment to improving systems and practices.
- Must be willing to maintain a flexible work schedule, working weekends and evenings when needed.
- Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Sales/Marketing Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales/Marketing
- Plan and execute outreach, marketing and promotional strategies to attract new customers and increase engagement with repeat customers for webstore, markets, & wholesale partnerships
- Assist with @SpoonFullFarm Instagram and Facebook presences
- Manage the Spoon Full webstore and website
- Organize the inventory, packing, transporting, and pick up of all orders
- Communicate with customers to answer any questions and ensure smooth deliveries
- Provide weekly information about inventory and stock, for email newsletter & social media
- Maintain detailed records of beef, lamb, honey, and Sun Sauce inventory
- Devise ways to improve and efficiently optimize inventory control procedures for market and other sale revenues
- Keep organized records of weekly market & webstore sales
- Research and present new outlets for sales (includes wholesale) of all products including beef, garden, honey, lamb, sun sauce, and future new items
- Track and analyze sales trends to establish and achieve goals
Market Manager
- Oversee Spoon Full Farm's market booths including any staffing
- Optimize Spoon Full's market experience and profitability
- Meet projected sales goals through active and effective marketing and outreach
- Update our farmers market booth displays to focus on beef/lamb//honey/Sun Sauce

- Coordinate market pack-out/pack-up at the farm
- Be an extroverted "face" of the farm!
- Expressing Spoon Full Farm’s mission, ethos, and brand through in person interactions
- Stepping in to work market if rep unavailable or unable to do so
Administrative Assistance
- Participate in monthly Spoon Full Farm board meetings regarding future vision and path of SFF.
- Act as the point of contact for the OG certification process.
- Work as a productive member of the farm crew when needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years’ communications or marketing experience and strong interest in Spoon Full Farm’s mission, vision, and values.
- Proven ability and commitment to building and maintaining customer relationships
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal: in person, over the phone, and email,
- Exceptional attention to detail and consistent with follow-through
- Ability to work independently
- Good time management and organization skills
