Green Bow is located in the middle of the beautiful Kittitas Valley where we sell direct to our customers through our farm store, farmers markets in Seattle and Eastern Washington.
Job description
Green Bow Farm, a diverse and regenerative farm based in Kittitas Valley, Washington, is hiring a lead meat cutter. The farm is located outside of Ellensburg on 56 acres where we produce grass-finished beef, pork, chicken, lamb and eggs on pasture and sell direct to customers. The farm includes an onsite processing facility as well as a farm store.
Applicant requirements
- 2-3 years experience with meat cutting, commercial kitchen management
- Creative problem solving
- Provide creative presentation
- Able to work with a schedule
- Good physical health
- Ability to lift 100+ lbs.
- Able to communicate effectively
- Detail oriented
- Willing to practice COVID-19 safety measures
Responsibilities
- Work with a calendar and plan ahead
- Work flow
- Schedule employees
- Motivate workers
- Process animal units efficiently (2 beef/day, 6 pigs/day, 10 lambs/day for an 8 hour day with clean up)
- Provide creative presentation
- Track inventory and reorder supplies as needed
- Follow SSOP and GMP guidelines
Experience
- Managing kitchens and employees
- Breaking down beef, pork, lamb, poultry
- Curing and smoking
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
