Here at Understory Farm we grow 4 acres of specialty cut flowers in the Champlain Valley of Vermont. We produce over 50 different varieties of cut flowers for sale to wholesalers, local florist, grocery stores, farmers market and our own wedding and event floral design. We believe flowers bring beauty to our community, empower creativity and help tell the story of local agriculture.

Job description

We are currently seeking someone to start as soon as April 1st and continue working with us through October.
We are seeking someone who

• has a passion for farming
• values hard work
• has experience using farm equipment and power tools
• is self directed and can work both as a team and alone
• is comfortable working in all weather conditions outside

We are in the process of moving our farm to our new location in Bridport, VT. Part of this job is helping reconstruct our greenhouses, workshop, wash station and other infrastructure. The ideal candidate for this job would be open to working on a diversity of jobs including:
-Construction
-Watering
-Transplanting
-Weeding
-Mowing
-Harvesting
-Bucket washing
-Deliveries

For this job you must be able to lift 50lbs, have a drivers license and be comfortable following CDC Covid guidelines.

Hourly wage is commensurate with experience. Unfortunately, we do not have housing available at this time.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $14.00 - $18.00
