KITTY'S MARKET IS HIRING!
We are a market & café - a place to grab a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich in the morning, to pick up some fresh, local produce, or to get a rotisserie chicken and sides (plus a 6-pack of beer!) to eat on the patio or take home for dinner.
We're located just across the street from the Hudson Amtrak station, one of the busiest in NY State! We are in the unique position to cultivate relationships with all of our Hudson neighbors while being a friendly welcome to new visitors to the area.
Kitty’s Market focuses on both curated local grocery items as well as familiar pantry staples. We offer high quality, delicious NY roasted coffee, espresso and teas. Our food offerings center around our rotisserie chicken and sides, plus some fun picnic and train snacks. We are committed to and excited about showing off everything Hudson, the region and the state have to offer!

This May, Kitty's World will expand with a full-on restaurant with plenty of outdoor space to spread out. We'll serve up delicious food inspired by the mountains around us and the valley we live in, and pair it with some really special wine.
Speaking of wine, we also have a sister bottle shop, Grapefruit Wines just up the street, focusing on low-intervention wines made by small farmers who really care about their land and communities.
Job description
The ideal candidate has 2-5 years experience in professional kitchens and most importantly loves cooking. The Market Chef will be responsible for overseeing the day to day flow of the kitchen, managing the flow of local produce from the retail side to ensure we are utilizing our produce at its peak and striving for a waste free environment. We strive to provide an environment that promotes curiosity and kindness and are committed to a foundation grounded in mentorship and skill sharing. We are seeking a candidate who is motivated to grow with us. Please have a thirst for knowledge! The Market Chef should be excited to learn and share their passion for the bounty of the Hudson Valley with our guests.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- The Market Chef is responsible for over seeing the preparation and production of both the in-café dining and prepared, take away foods.
- The Market Chef will work closely with the front of house team to provide food and service to our customers.
- The Market Chef will prioritize Health Department standards, company cleanliness standards, and a safe work environment.
- The Market Chef will work closely with the Culinary Director on developing new menu items.
- Extremely good organization and time management skills are vital to this position!

Please note, this job requires you to stand for shifts of 8 hours and lift 25-50 lbs regularly.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
