Forget farm-to-table, it's time for farm-AND-table! Together Farms is the only farm in the region that offers weekly Burger Nights right on the farm using our own meat. We raise 100% grassfed cattle, sheep and pastured, heritage pork, all organically-raised on our lush pastures in the driftless (hilly) region of Wisconsin.
TF is dedicated to providing our community with nourishing food. All of our livestock are raised humanely on pasture without any GMOs, antibiotics or hormones. In fact, our goal is nutrient-dense products so we add apple cider vinegar and high quality minerals and salt to their diets in addition to the highly diverse diets from our driftless Wisconsin fields.
Not only are TF’s products raised ethically but they taste great too because they are full of good stuff and NO WEIRD STUFF! We use Animal Welfare Approved butchers that do not add any MSG, preservatives or unpronounceable ingredients.
Burger Night is seasonal from April 29 - Oct 2 and we are open on-farm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday with live music every Friday and Saturday night. But the fun wouldn't be complete without many local beers and wines to choose from and many local yard games for all ages to enjoy. We also have pigs, cattle and sheep for our guests, along with camping sites and trails.
Together Farms also offers Wine Nights and Beer Dinners at least monthly from May - Sept during which we weave a night of storytelling in with 4 courses of food paired with the perfect beverage for our guests to enjoy.
Every Saturday from June - August we offer a 1-2 hour long farm tour on our hay wagon to show folks how we manage our livestock and why and hopefully arm them with the info they need to improve their own health by finding small, family farms to support.
Year round we offer our meat and meal kits for sale online and deliver throughout the Midwest.

Job description
Together Farms is looking for a lead cook to take on Burger Night 2021. We expect an amazing year and are looking for someone we can count on to make sure the kitchen not only steps up to the challenge but dominates. We are doing our best to pay well at $18-25/hr and all the benefits below....

Responsibilities include:
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment before we open
- Efficiently prepare ingredients (vegetables, meat, sauces, etc.)
- Cook food using various methods to maintain high quality
- Ensure food presentation meets standards before being served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen, walk-in, storage spaces
- Ensure all food and other items are stored and properly maintained
- Monitor stock and place orders weekly
- Kitchen staff schedule updated as needed
- Keep food waste to a minimum, practice FIFO
- Reward team members for exceeding expectations (you’ll have a weekly budget)
- Daily check-in with the owners to solve problems before they become problems
- Meet food and staff cost benchmarks
- Kitchen crew maintains weekly cleanliness checklists (weekly staff bonus)
- Pass health inspections

This position will start ASAP with flexible hours to assist with: setting the menu, setting weekly specials, hiring additional staff, training and cleaning/organizing for your best workflow and efficiency.
Burger Night is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from April 29th – Oct 2nd. We open at 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays and noon on Saturdays.
This position is seasonal, however, our monthly Meal Kit subscription is growing and has the potential to grow more. If you are interested in year-round work, please let us know. Meal Kit hours are extremely flexible.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
