Marketing and Communications Coordinator

(40 hours/week, salaried, exempt)

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating communications and marketing efforts for the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) and Vermont Organic Farmers (VOF). The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the Marketing and Communications Director.

 

Job Summary

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator works closely with the Marketing and Communications Director to implement the strategic marketing and communications strategy for NOFA-VT and VOF. This includes helping to tell the story of our programs and mission-driven work, promoting the VOF certification brand, coordinating print and electronic campaigns, coordinating NOFA-VT's web and social media presence, supporting press relations, event promotion and staffing, and a coordinating production of our quarterly print newsletter and VOF’s annual producer directory.  

 

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the creation of NOFA-VT and VOF print materials by soliciting staff input and content, writing stories as needed, providing high quality photos, collecting ads, doing design and layout, and managing print processes. 
  • Supporting NOFA-VT and VOF’s online presence by creating content for and updating nofavt.org regularly (including homepage, blog and event pages), maintaining and enhancing NOFA-VT and VOF’s social media channels, and coordinating content, development and dissemination of our two e-newsletters.
  • Supporting press relations with media outlets, including press releases, pitching stories and working to get earned advertisements.
  • Promoting NOFA-VT events as well as conducting outreach at a wide variety of regional events. 
  • Supporting the development and implementation of NOFA-VT’s and VOF’s marketing initiatives outlined in our strategic marketing plans. 
  • Collaborate with the Development and Engagement team to provide membership, fundraising and engagement support. 
 

Qualifications

The Communications Coordinator possesses expertise in outreach and marketing fundamentals, strong written and oral communications skills, graphic design skills, a creative, energetic attitude, and the ability to balance many projects. Experience with Google Suite, Mailchimp, social media platforms, basic website maintenance, and Adobe Creative Suite is necessary.

This position is currently remote due to COVID. Moving forward, the position will likely be a hybrid position with some days working from home and some days working from NOFA-VT's office in Richmond.

Compensation

This is a coordinator level position, falling into NOFA-VT’s program staff pay band of $20.26 - $26.34. NOFA-VT offers competitive benefits including healthcare coverage, paid time off, a flexible work schedule, and more.
