The farm is entering its second year of production; facilitating Community Supported Agriculture and growing a variety of pasture raised meat, certified organic vegetables and cut flowers on 5 acress. Spring Creek operates according to organic standards and continually strives to "regenerate" the soil in harmony with nature.

Job description

We are looking for a livestock manager to join our farm team. This job is not for the faint of heart - you will need to be handy, self motivated, well spoken, and experienced in all aspects of animal husbandry. We raise meat birds, egg laying hens, one herd of beef cattle, one herd of mama cows, and a small flock of sheep and goats - all grass-fed and always on pasture. Duties include collecting, washing, packing eggs and cleaning coops when needed, raising and processing of meat birds, cattle fence upkeep and rotating the herds through pasture, keeping an eye out for issues within the herd and calling for a vet if needed, moving sheep and goats and providing water, as well as generating sales through our farm market operations and wholesale outlets.

You will be required to work outdoors in all weather - heat, humidity, cold, rain, snow, etc. All applicants need to be fit, able to work independently or as a team, and live a healthy lifestyle with a positive attitude.

Salary begins at 30k but is dependent on experience, and whether or not you want onsite shared housing or have your own accommodations. Great potential for bonuses based on your ability to generate increased meat and egg sales. All employees have unlimited access to “ugly” veggies, plus a 20% discount on meat and eggs from the farm. The daily hour commitment will vary depending on seasonal demands, but the person in this position is expected to work 40+ hours, just like the other managers.
