Honey Hi is a restaurant in Los Angeles serving food that promotes personal, public & planetary well-being. We strive to source and prepare food, as well as cultivate community, in thoughtful ways that meet this mission. This work is ever evolving - we are always pushing to improve and build new relationships with non-industrialized farms, individuals and companies. This is essential because we place equal value on where and who our food comes from and its nutritional integrity, as we do on the way it tastes. Our cooking celebrates food cultures from across the world and it’s our duty and privilege to honor those who shape these traditions.
Our menu mostly consists of local, organic vegetables from small farms at the Echo Park, Hollywood and Santa Monica farmer’s markets where we shop every few days. The pancakes, toast, and sandwiches we serve use nutrient-dense flours like buckwheat and hazelnut that are naturally gluten free. We’re proud to serve animal products from pasture raised & grass-fed California farms. We cook with unrefined, non-industrialized oils and steer clear of refined sugar, food additives or other ingredients that don’t promote well-being. We know our farmers and work with those who practice regenerative agriculture and soil restoration as often as we can. The result is food that is nourishing, vibrant and celebratory.
Job description
Honey Hi is a breakfast and lunch restaurant in Echo Park serving thoughtfully sourced food and drinks that promote personal, public and planetary wellbeing. We are currently serving socially distanced take out/delivery and outdoor dining as well as transitioning to include indoor dining in the near future.We are seeking front of house staff with significant restaurant, cafe or serving experience. Critical thinking, attention to detail and very strong work ethic are non-negotiable. Knowledge about seasonality, nutrition and sustainability are a huge plus. You can find out more about what we do by checking out our instagram @honeyhiYour job will include: being well versed on our menu/farmers and suppliers, customer service, light food prep as well as heavy smoothie and specialty drink making. We have a small team of people we work with and we’d love to find someone that is a good fit.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
