About the Role

The Honest Weight Food Co-op is more than a grocery store. As a food cooperative with strong Member-Owner involvement, we are a community of people who care about food, about each other, and about the future of the planet.

We are looking for a uniquely qualified individual who can bring together a symphony of voices, talents, and perspectives and help create a common sense of purpose around our organization's future.

This role requires a person with strong values, solid business acumen, exceptional people skills, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and passion for our mission.

 

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders (including Member-Owners, Staff, community members, the Board) to facilitate decisions that align with our mission

  • Clearly communicate issues related to store operations, community engagement and organizational change to the Board, Member-Owners, Staff and others

  • Create an environment where all voices and perspectives are heard and respected

  • Oversee all store and business operations

  • Support and promote the Member-Owner time investment program

  • Increase sales and increase our overall community impact

  • Basic Qualifications

    • Degree in Business, Management or related field, or commensurate experience

    • 7-to-10 years of experience in a leadership role in an organization of similar size

    • Experience managing the operations of a customer-facing retail store

    • A demonstrated commitment to collaboration and inclusion in interacting with others

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in a coop, B-Corporation, or similar “triple bottom line” (People, Planet, Profits) / values-driven organization
