Job description
Real Organic Project is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Development Director to join our growing team. Whoever fills this position should feel passionate about creating change within the food system and working hard to support Real Organic farmers and eaters. We pride ourselves on being a small organization that gets big things done. This position is full time, salaried with benefits and is a permanently 100% remote job. The ability to conduct limited, paid travel to events around the country is required.
The Development Director will own all aspects of Real Organic Project’s fundraising efforts. This will include working to create an annual fundraising plan, maintaining our current small and large donor relationships as well as developing a significant new base of funders. Additionally, this role will involve intensive planning of fundraising events - both digitally and in person. For the right person this role will provide an enormous amount of room for creativity and unique problem solving. We want to work with someone who is always actively thinking about how we can better approach our development efforts - both now and in the future.
Qualifications
- An earnest belief in the importance of supporting Real Organic farmers
- Previous experience working in the sustainable food and/or farming space
- Previous development experience with a proven track record of building new donor relationships
- Experience successfully managing complex and/or long term projects
- Comfort with basic technology like Excel, Word and social media platforms
- Ability to clearly communicate complex topics, both verbally and in written form, to a wide audience
- Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Comfort working with a wide variety of people with different backgrounds and political views
- Excited to work with a small team that has big goals and a start up attitude
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
