- Friday - Sunday Daytime Availability required. No late nights!

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a professional New York kitchen and knowledge of basic culinary techniques. Above all, we are looking for someone with a strong work ethic who is willing to learn the way we do things, match our established aesthetic & maintain our high standards.

What You’ll Do
The Line Cook is a self-starter with leadership qualities who thrives in a fast paced, growing environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up stations with all necessary supplies.
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Your job will involve vegetable, meat and fish prep, cooking, roasting, making dressings, soups, salads, and much more.
- Always follow supervisors’ direction.
- Follow proper cooking techniques for all dishes.
- Ensure food quality and timeliness.
- Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to company and state regulations.
- Comply with all nutrition, sanitation and safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain a positive and respectful approach with everyone.
- Other related assignments as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be fully Covid vaccinated
- At least one year of experience working in a fast-paced new york kitchen, preferably in meal prep, catering, or events
- Possess a broad knowledge of culinary techniques, including cooking proteins, starches, vegetables + sauces.
- Knowledge and/or interest around health-supportive diets and passion for serving food of the utmost quality.
- Possess strong knife skills
- Professional, friendly and responsible
- Takes direction well
- Able to move quickly and efficiently
- Able to stand and walk throughout the entire work day
- Able to lift, stack and move objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Able to read and speak fluent English and legally be able to work in U.S.
- Adheres to NY DOH sanitation and safety guidelines
- Food Handlers License preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise
- Required to work in small Commercial Kitchen for a shift period of 8.5 hours (approximate)
- Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration
- Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands with or without notice including weekends and holidays

Compensation
