Company description
Northbourne Farm is a small vegetable farm on Vashon Island, WA. We have 1.5 acres in cultivation, on which we grow lettuce and other salad greens, radishes, garlic, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, peas, beans, kale, cabbage, broccoli, etc. etc. We serve a small CSA membership, sell through a farm stand on the property, and wholesale to restaurants and other outlets on the island. We use a mixture of human, draft horse and tractor power.
Internship description
Employees can expect to be involved with soil preparation, seeding, transplanting, watering, weeding, cultivating, harvesting, washing and packing. The two positions available are full time and run May - October.
You will work around our draft horses and help use horse-powered equipment, but this position is not intended to teach you how to drive horses.

We can provide housing for employees on the farm. This includes a rustic bedroom cabin with electricity and heat, a kitchen and bathroom shared with one other employee, and laundry shared across everyone. Our housing situation is not intended for pets or children.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $15/hr +
